-flashbacks or nightmares following a persons movement in or observation of an extremely stress full event

Chapter 1

Goals of Psychology:

Socrates and Plato think that we as humans the brain already filled with knowledge and now we just use it.

Aristotle and Locke thinks that our brains start as a blank slate and we have to lean things to fill the slate.

Wilhelm Wandt: Father of psychology



Structuralism:
-Breaks it down into mental processes that are very basic forms.
      Ex: HEAR, TASTE, SMELL, FEEL, SEE?
Functionalism: 
-focus less on the sensation or perception, but on rather why?
